Row by Row 2018 Dreamland Ballroom Kit with Pattern

The theme for Row by Row 2018 is music! For our row we have again chosen a local landmark. This year our row depicts the Dreamland Ballroom. The ballroom is located on the top floor of Taborian Hall on West Ninth Street in downtown Little Rock, which is now the home of Arkansas Flag and Banner. Taborian Hall is the last existing building of the once vibrant African American community centered on West Ninth Street. The hall was built in 1916-1918 and served as a service club and a USO for thousands of black soldiers and war workers. The Dreamland Ballroom was elaborately constructed, with ornate lighting and carved wood sconces surrounding the stage, and double level balconies on each side. The ballroom played host to many jazz legends during its history, including Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Nat “King” Cole, and many others.

The free pattern as well as the kit for our Row are available in the shop between June 21 and September 4.
