
Backyard Birds Fabric Collage

Lisa Thorpe is an internationally known mixed media and fiber artist who teaches nationally, has a number of magazine publications, and was a guest on The Quilt Show in 2022. We are pleased to have her join us to present a day of fabric collage techniques.

Requirements: | Kit to be purchased from Lisa at beginning of class; Small pieces of fabric to use in collage. Batiks and hand dyed and printed fabrics are particularly nice. It?s good to have at least one piece that is 11x7 or larger in background colors- blues, tans and greens are a good choice. ?Rotary cutter, ruler and small cutting mat ?1/2 yard Misty fuse or Wonder Under or pack Ease-A-Steam 2 ?Fabric scissors, pinking shears are nice too if you have them ? Sewing machine (bring free motion foot if you have one) Note: this piece can be done with fuse and hand stitch if you prefer not to use a machine. ? A variety of machine thread colors optional: metallics, top stitch ? Optional: Embroidery floss or pearl cotton of your choice, and needles if you like the idea of incorporating hand stitch embellishment.
