Beginning English Smocking
In the first session of this two session class, you will learn the basic smocking stitches and how to read a smocking design (also called a smocking plate) while working on a practice piece of pleated fabric which will be provided for you. At the end of class, you will choose the fabric for your first project. Your project fabric will be pleated by the instructor as a part of your class fee, and in the second class session you will begin working on your project. For the first session, bring a pair of embroidery scissors. All other supplies for the first class session will be provided.
